Majors in Biology

Majors:

Individualized Major

1. Biological Sciences Major (B.S. Plan of Study or B.A. Plan of Study)

Research Assistant
This degree is intended for students interested in a general degree in biology, including subsequent careers in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary science.  By selection of suitable courses, in consultation with your advisor, any area of biology can be emphasized. In addition to completing one course from each of three "core groups", students are urged to complete at least four courses with laboratory work in any of the biology departments.  It is possible to obtain a B.A. degree in Biological Sciences, although for most students we recommend taking the few extra courses needed for the B.S. degree. Students seeking a degree in Biological Sciences must find an advisor in one of the three biology departments (EEB, MCB, or PNB). Biology Central Services is not associated with the Biological Sciences degree.
